KDFL Lumsden League Cup (Round 1)

Arlington FC 6 Allenwood Celtic 0

Arlington FC proved too strong for Allenwood Celtic in this all premier league Lumsden League Cup round one tie on Sunday, coming out convincing 6-0 victors at home.

Both sides started brightly in an attempt to gain the upper hand. It was Arlington who threatened first with a snap shot which visiting keeper Josh Ryan did well to snuff out the danger. At the other end Allenwood had an early chance of their own when Killian Darling was unlucky with his effort from close range. Soon after Allenwood who impressed in the early stages had another shot on target from Martin Banham.

Arlington began to make inroad and went 1-0 up midway through the half with a superb effort from talisman Shane Nealon. The home side had their tails up now and went in search of a second through Sebastian Nochtawic from a Robbie McNeill corner. Allenwood were still a threat at the other end but a combination of poor finishing and excellent keeping by the home custodian kept the score at 2-0 to the home side.

Arlington added a third when the impressive Robbie McNeill scored a superb individual effort to make it 3-0. The home side rounded off a good first half performance with a fourth. This time from the boot of Ceilum Coughlan.

Allenwood had a tough challenge ahead in the second half but remained steadfast throughout and faired a little better in the second half keeping the scoreline to a minimum. Arlington added late goals from McNeill with his second of the day and substitute OuSsama tapping in at the near post for their sixth. An all round team performance from Arlington while best for Allenwood were Jay Ryan, Killian Darling and Martin Banham.
