KDFL Awards Night Review

KDFL 2025 ANNUAL AWARDS NIGHT REVIEW.


The KDFL Celebrated their 31st Annual Awards Ceremony on Friday evening in the usual venue of the Keadeen Hotel. The festive surroundings of the hotel gave a party feel for what was to unfold as almost 300 guests were directed to the Oak room where they were treated to a prosecco reception to view the League’s extensive media collection dating back to August 1994, shortly before 8 all made their way to the ballroom to enjoy a fabulous meal before launching into the business of the evening as the League presented their various trophies and special award winners for 2025.

48 presentations were made in total, consisting of League, Cup and Shield winners and special awards winners. League Secretary Regina Casey opened proceedings by welcoming all guests which included FAI President Paul Cooke, FAI Vice President and President of the Leinster Football Association, Peter Doyle Leinster Football Association Administrator and Jimmy Mowlds FAI Regional Manager, among other guests were League Referees, members of the local Newspapers and Radio, fellow Leagues, Clubs, League associates and sponsors all of whom were recognised during the presentations.  


League Secretary Regina noted the League kicked off its 31st Season in football on Friday 4th April this year and completed a domestic programme of 688 League games, 155 Cup and Shield games and one play off across the League’s nine division. With still a chance of silverware for our members, Regina wished both Rathangan AFC and Clonmullion FC the very best of luck in the last 32 of the LFA Junior Cup. Regina thanks most sincerely all of the League’s affiliates who work tirelessly to bring their game to the community and strengthen the KDFL across District. She thanked the hard working committee of the KDFL who work almost on a daily basis to bring football to all and acknowledge their commitment. 


FAI President Paul Cooke in his address to the attendees congratulated all the winners on the night. He mentioned the League being founded in 1994, the same year Ireland reached the World Cup Finals in the USA and how at that time everyone was enjoying the success of association Football. He noted the success of the international men’s team in recent week weeks reaching the play offs had reminded us of those great times and times we hope to enjoy again. He noted the value of the game internationally and in our local communities and the great work which is being carried out by individuals and their clubs. 


FAI Vice President and President of the Leinster Football Association Dave Moran in his addressed also congratulated all the winners on the night and also referenced all the clubs in the League who helped make it happen for everyone. Dave congratulated the KDFL Executive on their excellent work over the years in bringing such professionalism to the game in their administration of the game and indeed on the night. He said the preparation are second to none, ensuring that everyone have an enjoyable evening.
