Arlington AFC were narrowly beaten 1–0 by Rathangan AFC in a tight Senior/Premier

Shield semi-final clash at Castle Park.The visitors took the lead midway through the first

half when a corner to the back post was met by a Rathangan player who headed home

from close range.

Arlington grew into the game and were the dominant side after the break, creating several

excellent chances following a series of substitutions. The hosts applied heavy pressure

throughout the second half, including a goalmouth scramble that somehow stayed out,

but couldn’t find the equaliser their play merited. The match was halted for over 30

minutes in the 76th minute due to a serious injury to a Rathangan player. Everyone at

Arlington AFC wishes the player a full and speedy recovery. Best for Arlington were
