While Richie Kelly and Anthony Clifford combined beautifully for the match-winning goal, the ultimate foundation of Newbridge Hotspurs' victory lay in an exceptional performance from their shot-stopper.

JP McDonagh put on an absolute masterclass in goal for the visitors. Under intense scrutiny during Maynooth's dominant second-half rally, McDonagh stood absolutely defiant. He pulled off a string of high-level saves to deny certain equalizers, commanded his penalty box with total authority, and came off his line flawlessly to punch away dangerous aerial crosses. For his ice-cool composure under heavy fire and match-winning clean sheet, McDonagh was the star of the afternoon.
