Leinster Power Flushing Premier Division

Suncroft AFC 3 St Anthony Youths 3

Familiar opponents Suncroft AFC and St Anthony's faced off in the Community grounds on a fine Wednesday evening .

St Anthony's started the brighter of the two teams and could've been awarded a penalty two minutes in when a tangle between two former Suncroft team mates Tommy Doyle and Ross Dowling but was brushed away by referee Eddie O Sullivan. The deadline was broken on the quarter hour mark when Johnny Fennell found himself in the open on the left wing beating three players and poking in on the right foot beating Antos keeper Cormac Barker .

However three minutes after Fennell's goal a missed clearance from Suncroft found the ball at the edge of the box and an excellent finish from Ross O Brien found the top corner to leave it all square.

An unforced change through injury on the half hour saw Jack Brennan replaced by Dylan Guilfoyle.

On the brink of half time Suncroft were awarded a penalty when Kallum Ennis was fouled in the area and up steps Fennell to dispatch into the corner and fortunate for Suncroft Barker’s hand getting to the ball but still found the corner 2-1 half time.

On the resumption after the break another injury for Suncroft saw JJ Hartnett replaced by debutant Dan Cox . A quick fire double from Anto’s ssaw them awarded a penalty and Ross O Brien dispatched cooly to draw level for the second time.  The next goal came just two minutes later when a Tom Healy cross whipped across the Suncroft goal found Johnny's Fennell’s head , Johnny tried to cushion a header back to Kian Kehoe and unfortunately ended in the bottom corner, leaving it 3-2 to the visitors.

Suncroft pushed for an equaliser for the next twenty minutes  and introduced Craig Durney , Aaron Clancy and league debutant Reece Doyle . The home side squared matters deservedly when an outside of the boot cross from Fennell met the head of Hipwell and found the net.  Suncroft then thought they found the winner when Josh Lee had the ball in the bottom corner from a great cross from Clancy however this was ruled off side by the match official. Best for the visitors were Ross O Brien, Tony Pearson , and Tom Healy. While for the home side Tadhg Hipwell , Eoin Deans , Joe Brennan impressed with man of the match going to Johnny Fennell with an unconventional hat trick.
